Tailoring

Aloo Foundation’s tailoring program is a 12mo long scholarship course in tailoring, where women from the nearby Mtomondoni village learn everything from sewing to garment design to business development. After students pass their final exams, they will graduate with their own sewing machine and with the skills and support to build their own home business.

We are currently in our 3yr year and group of cohorts.

Several of the students from the 1st and 2nd year are working full time as tailors in stores, others have gone on to open their own tailoring shop and many others are continuing to run their tailoring practice from their home.
